FAQ

  • Q How should the domestic waste generated by patients with infectious diseases or suspected infectious diseases admitted to medical and health institutions be disposed of as medical waste?

    A
With the development of my country's economy, my country's medical industry has also made great progress, but this has also led to many problems, such as the disposal of medical waste. Medical waste disposal refers to the process of treating medical waste and garbage generated by relevant personnel that poses physical, chemical, or biological hazards to humans, animals, and the environment. It includes the process of appropriate disinfection and even complete removal of some highly infectious medical waste.

Medical waste microwave disinfection equipment is used in this series of medical waste microwave disinfection equipment for the harmless disposal of medical waste. The scope of treatment includes infectious, traumatic, and pathological medical waste (excluding human limbs and organs), and it can also be used to handle dead poultry during epidemics. The MDU series products are designed as an automated system with minimal operator intervention. They are suitable for centralized medical waste collection and disposal projects in cities, counties, and county-level cities, providing timely disposal, small equipment footprint, convenient and fast processing, high automation, rapid sterilization using microwave disinfection technology, timely disposal of medical waste, and high equipment stability. Introduction to Mobile Microwave Disinfection Equipment for Medical Waste Treatment:

    1. Integrated design, small footprint, low noise.

    2. High degree of automation; only one person is needed to operate the entire system, saving labor costs.

    3. Low energy consumption; the entire system requires only electricity. For example, processing 5 tons per day requires a total installed power of only 115 kilowatts.

    4. Flexible medical waste treatment; medical waste can be processed anytime, and the equipment can be shut down immediately after processing, minimizing energy consumption and personnel costs, thus saving on treatment costs.

    5. Microwave disinfection equipment is available in both fixed and mobile versions; it has a small footprint and is easy to move.
  • Q Advantages and Applications of High-Temperature Steam Sterilization Equipment for Medical Waste With the rapid development of medical technology, the amount of medical waste is increasing year by year. How to safely and effectively dispose of this waste has become an important issue. High-temperatur

    A
    Background
Medical waste refers to waste generated by medical institutions such as hospitals, clinics, and laboratories, which may contain infectious materials, pharmaceuticals, hazardous materials, chemicals, radioactive materials, etc. These wastes pose a serious threat to the environment and human health, and therefore require proper disposal. However, traditional medical waste treatment methods have certain problems, such as incomplete treatment, low efficiency, and safety hazards. Therefore, finding a more ideal and efficient method for medical waste treatment has become an urgent task.

    Advantages
High-temperature steam sterilization technology is a sterilization method that uses high-temperature, high-pressure steam as a medium. In the treatment of medical waste, this technology has the following advantages:

    1. Significant Effectiveness: High-temperature steam sterilization can rapidly kill various microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Compared to traditional methods, high-temperature steam sterilization offers superior sterilization effectiveness, completely eliminating pathogens in medical waste.

    2. High Efficiency: During high-temperature steam sterilization, all components of the waste are effectively treated. Furthermore, due to the strong penetrating power of steam, it can quickly penetrate even difficult-to-treat wastes, such as needles and glass, significantly improving processing efficiency.

    3. Safe and Reliable: The high-temperature steam sterilization process is conducted in a closed system, reducing operator contact with hazardous substances and lowering occupational exposure risks. In addition, wastewater generated during high-temperature steam sterilization can meet discharge standards after appropriate treatment, minimizing environmental impact.

High-temperature steam sterilization technology has broad application prospects in medical waste treatment. Currently, this technology accounts for 85% of medical waste sterilization processes nationwide. In centralized medical waste disposal centers, high-temperature steam sterilization technology can effectively treat various types of medical waste, including infectious materials and chemically hazardous medical waste, avoiding the problems associated with traditional treatment methods. Meanwhile, the safety and environmental friendliness of high-temperature steam sterilization technology have been fully verified and widely praised. In summary, high-temperature steam sterilization technology has significant advantages in medical waste treatment. This technology can rapidly kill various pathogens in medical waste, improve treatment efficiency, and is safe, reliable, and has minimal environmental impact. Empirical studies and practical applications have proven the effectiveness of high-temperature steam sterilization technology in medical waste treatment. Therefore, it is recommended to promote the use of high-temperature steam sterilization technology in medical waste disposal centers to better solve the problem of medical waste treatment and protect human health and environmental safety.
  • Q Comparison of Domestic and International Medical Waste Treatment, and the Characteristics and Current Status of Medical Waste Treatment in China?

    A
Among the most widely used medical waste treatment methods internationally, high-temperature incineration is the preferred method. This is because it has many advantages, including wide applicability, difficulty in identifying the treated waste, thorough disinfection, significant volume and weight reduction, comprehensive relevant standards and regulations, and mature technology. It has been widely used internationally for many years.

In developed countries such as the United States and Europe, the most widely used non-incineration technologies for medical waste treatment mainly include high-pressure steam treatment, microwave treatment, chemical treatment, electric arc furnace treatment, and plasma treatment. The latter two technologies are less widely used.

In my country, medical waste disposal is still in its early stages and lags far behind developed countries. To change the current backward situation in disposal technology and management, medical waste regulations should be gradually improved, and a safe treatment plan for medical waste should be developed as soon as possible. In 2002, the total amount of medical waste generated nationwide was approximately 650,000 tons, with an average daily generation of 1,780 tons. It is projected that by 2010, the number of hospital beds will increase by 5% compared to 2002. The amount of medical waste generated will reach 680,000 tons. In terms of distribution, apart from a few provinces with relatively large amounts, other provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions generate relatively little. Furthermore, medical waste generation in areas other than major cities like Beijing and Shanghai is more dispersed and difficult to centralize. The amount of medical waste generated is prone to significant fluctuations.

Currently, less than 10% is centrally disposed of. Large amounts of medical waste are mixed with household garbage and landfilled, posing a serious threat to the environment and creating significant hidden dangers for the breeding and spread of diseases. With the increase in population and medical institutions, and the improvement of medical conditions, the amount of medical waste generated is increasing year by year, its harm becoming more severe, and the incidence rate increasing accordingly, leading to even more medical waste generation. This vicious cycle will result in incalculable social losses.
